address. mr. obama's worst term a lot of evidence of the peril to the planet. record-breaking heat waves, forest fires, disappearing polar ice in a court with the prediction of the climate scientists. the effects were happening faster and more severely than predicted. you do not have to believe the scientists while reasserting american global energy leadership. even balancing the budget will be easier with this initiative. congress and the administration should begin conversation about a broad-based carbon tax. this would give the right signals on energy sources and use. it could raise money to reduce the deficit, restore our infrastructure, speed and finance conservation. there are a number of other commonsense steps that would make progress on carbon pollution and energy conservation goals more significant. the epa should stop dragging its feet permitting old coal plants to continue to spew forth toxic waste, harming the environment and the health of our citizens. it is past time the clean air act reinforced. make sure there are proper safeguards for the cracking technology. make sure

because, you know, if i was thinking about the speech that president obama gave, while it was very powerful and hopeful, there was one more piece that i think needed to be add fd you're thinking analytically, and that is even if that engagement fails, at least we know we tried and at least we know and the world knows where the responsibility lies. i think president obama's been good at helping orchestrate sanctions against iran because everyone recognized it was iran that stole an election from its own people. it was iran that continued to violate u.n. prohibitions against its nuclear enrichment activities, and obama managed to use his willingness to engage with iran when his hand was reached out and it was slapped back by ahmadinejad. he was then in a position to get tough with iran. so we're in this dilemma. i'm afraid engagement cannot guarantee a happy outcome but i agree with you, obama was signaling that he's willing to go the extra mile on the diplomatic front before he has to face that stark choice about how you prevent iran from getting a nuclear weapon if iran keeps up th

in tax increases with obama care. new tax increases at the beginning of this month. and now they are calling for even more tax increases, and they are not calling to cut spending. they are calling for spending increases. so basically what they're saying is, they want americans to pay more so washington can spend more. that's not going to help the economy, and that is not going to close the gap and balance the budget. the reason we want to balance the budget is not to make the numbers add up. we think that's necessary for growth and opportunity. we think it's necessary to make sure that our kids don't get this debt that they won't be able to handle if we keep going down the path we are on. >> but there are certainly those in the white house who would take issue with what you said or might even say to use your own criticism that's a straw man argume argument. they were prepared to cut additional spending to be part of a bigger agreement that republicans weren't able to agree to. there is more room for spending cuts. it's a matter of how you do it. >> the president was insistin

benghazi, when it initially began, was a way at getting at obama through hillary clinton, right, during the campaign, but it then evolved into something else that was about her for exactly that purpose. if the idea today was to ding her up memorably going into 2016, i don't think that was accomplished. rand paul did what he was supposed to do, it will make his base happy. it will not sway any votes. if i saw correctly, 37% of republicans approve of her. for her, that is not terrible. i mean, she has always been a pretty polarizing figure. she is leaving state department with, as you say, incredibly high approval ratings, and i don't think today did anything to change that trajectory. >> one of the pieces of sound we've played on this network and will continue to be played and will play right now, the moment hillary talks about the caskets coming home. it recalled a memory i have of the president when he was issuing the defense in the debate about how much this mattered in the administration and the contention that somehow this wasn't a big deal for them. let's play that sound, then i'd

" with the obama administration, who are staying anonymous because they fear retribution or fear from the white house. scooby sense tingling yet? this whole thing just seems off, right? i mean there are obviously two intentions with setting it up like this. they're trying to convey the impression that this is a white house who attacks and tears up anybody who disagrees with them. that is the way the right likes to think about this white house, that is the way they operate. they may be more effective if they did, but that is not what they do. more broadly, they're asserting there is broad opposition to chuck hagel, we're just not allowed to know who it is. i'm not buying it it, i say bull-pucky, i might be wrong, but i call bull-pucky. and if i am wrong, there is an easy way to prove it. come out, come out, whoever you are. if you are not bill kristol, liz cheney or the log cabin republicans, i'll be the first to admit i'm wrong. but i don't think i'm wrong. this is not a liberal group, it is a right-wing group, you're trying to look like liberals and we can tell. that does it for us, we'll see

is facing nearly $50 billion in cuts unless congress can agree on alternative. president obama violated the constitution. that's the decision from a federal appeals court. the ruling avoid the president's recess appointments of three national relations board members. recess appointments are when the president fills an administration position while the senate is not in session to avoid confirmation. the court says recess appointments can only be made between formal sessions of congress. the ruling also questions the nomination of richard cordray as head of the consumer financial protection bureau. the white house disagrees with that decision calling it, quote, unprecedented but no word on if it will appeal. she was found guilty of murdering her2-year-old daughter but found guilty of lying to -- i'm sorry, not guilty of murdering her daughter but guilty of lying to police. now casey anthony has had two of those four lying convictions overturned. the court finding that anthony actually only gave two interviews to detectives. not four. letting two convictions stand but throwing out the rest
